PAS Youth slammed for wanting MLTR show banned
PETALING JAYA: Karyawan president Freddie Fernandez has out at the PAS Youth which wants a ban on the Michael Learns to Rock (MLTR) concert in Genting Highlands in September.
He disputed the movement’s reason — that the concert was taking place during Ramadan.
PAS Youth chief Nasrudin Hassan Tantawi had issued a statement condemning the concert, calling it “an insult to all Muslims in the country during Ramadan”, adding they might demonstrate to get the concert stopped.
“PAS tries to get concerts banned any time of the year. For them, every concert is bad,” said Fernandez.
“There should be no question of whether or not the concert should be held, as long as concert promoter Star Planet is abiding by the guidelines of the Central Agency for Application for Filming and Performance by Foreign Artistes (Puspal),” he added.
“It’s going to be done in a closed venue. Moreover, we are a multi-racial and multi-religious country.
“It’s a matter of personal choice. Anyone can choose not to go. PAS should not impose their values on everyone. They should practise tolerance and understanding instead of depriving others of their right to enjoy,” he said.
Fernandez said the showbiz industry took instructions from the Information, Communi-cation and Culture Ministry.
“The ministry knows better. In this case, it has already okayed the concert,” he said.
Star Planet said the show would go on as planned at the Arena of Stars on Sept 5, adding that they were not violating any guidelines.

Half year GONE!!!!

OMG .... I just realise that the first half of the year is ending. Time fly so fast that NOW we don't even see how fast we are going and what have we actually accomplished . It's scary to know that as of end of June, we have only another 182 days left before we all closed the book on 2009.  So far what have I and the team of people actually achieved? That is the question where I find it very hard to answer. Well that is business wise.... but, in my family wise... well Alexander is growing up ...fast.  So this is a wake up call for myself. Stop messing around and move it.  We have 182 days left!!!!
