Too poor to buy food

IPOH: Widow Chin Peck Yen and her four children have not had three decent meals a day for almost four months.
The 40-year-old woman said she and her children often had to skip lunch and dinner because they could not afford to pay for their meals.
“I usually make an oatmeal beverage for breakfast and we try to sustain on this for the rest of the day.
“It is only when I save enough money that we spend on a small meal together,” she said at a press conference held by Perak MCA Public Service and Complaints Bureau chief Datuk Lee Kon Yin here.
Chin said her husband Chong Wai Yoon, 47, died on July 8 after an accident at his workplace in Kelantan.
She said Chong, who worked as an excavator operator, had sustained neck injuries after falling off his machine in April.
“Even when my husband was around, we could barely feed ourselves,” she said, adding that her husband’s monthly wage was about RM1,000 while she earned between RM100 and RM200 helping out at a hawker stall.
Chin, whose household expenses came to RM800 every month, said she and her four children, aged between five and 13 years, were currently staying with a relative in Pusing.
Lee said MCA had helped Chin apply for a monthly RM400 aid from the Welfare Department.
“The most important thing for them to have enough funds for her children’s education expenses,” said Lee, urging the public to donate to the family.
Those who wish to help can write out cheques to Perak MCA Public Service and Complaint Bureau with Chin’s name on the back, and send them to 90-92 Tingkat Satu, Jalan Sultan Idris Shah, 30000 Ipoh.
Those who wish to donate in kind can contact Lee at 012-515 1178.

Half year GONE!!!!

OMG .... I just realise that the first half of the year is ending. Time fly so fast that NOW we don't even see how fast we are going and what have we actually accomplished . It's scary to know that as of end of June, we have only another 182 days left before we all closed the book on 2009.  So far what have I and the team of people actually achieved? That is the question where I find it very hard to answer. Well that is business wise.... but, in my family wise... well Alexander is growing up ...fast.  So this is a wake up call for myself. Stop messing around and move it.  We have 182 days left!!!!
